Polis has been working on the subject of Citizens’ Participation through conducting assessments, systematizing and disseminating experiences in citizens’ participation (particularly of managing councils of public policies and Participatory Budgets). This work includes holding seminars and public debates, training activities, liaison with the São Paulo and National Forums of Grassroots Participation, as well as participating in Inter-Redes, liaison with Brazilian NGOs, Networks and Forums
Polis is also active on other Latin-American forums, such as Local Authorities Network– REPPOL, of CEAAL. Through our participation in the Logolink Network (Learning Initiative on Citizen Participation and Local Governance), we have disseminated experiences and knowledge throughout Latin-America, in addition to participating in international discussion and liaison activities. The purpose of the activities conducted is to contribute towards qualification of civil society participation experiences in management of public policies, making them more public, more inclusive and more democratic.
Polis also recently began to participate on municipal and national councils. After more than a decade of experimentation and experiences, the discourse of participation has been widely disseminated in several social sectors, and it is our belief that we contribute significantly to this process.
